The round table format accommodates a smaller number of students and schools in order to maximize quality interaction.
Prospective MBA applicants are seated at a table of 5 to 8 people. The business school representatives give a 10 to 15 minute presentation at each table then rotate to the next table of applicants. The event is coined “speed dating for business school applicants” because as a prospective candidate, you have the opportunity to hear from every business school participating and compare each program to one another. During each presentation applicants have the opportunity to make a good impression and ask school representatives in depth questions about the respective program.
An applicant who attended the San Francisco March 2009 round table event said,
“The roundtable discussions allowed me to hear from schools that I otherwise would not have. In a different setting I would only have talked to the reps from the schools I had short listed. Because of the roundtable, I will be applying to a school that I had not considered.”
