Topics will focus on pre-event preparation and region specific questions for candidates attending the events. The virtual panels will be 3-4 weeks before each tour and will be promoted on the tour’s website event pages as a preparation resource for attendees. This is a great opportunity for registrants to become familiar with your school and hear your advice before meeting you in person at the events. A school can participate in up to 2 virtual panels that coincide with tour participation.

MeetUp Bonus for 2012 Clients! Free of charge for all participating business schools
The MBA Tour can help you find and meet up with top prospects before or after our events! With MeetUp, we provide a customized list of pre-qualified students registered for an event, then enable you to schedule meetings with students YOU choose.
How it works:
Step 1: The MBA Tour collects information from prospective students who pre-register for our events
MBA candidates provide their preferred program type and location, years of experience, GMAT score (if taken), and 5 top preferences for choosing an MBA program
They are encouraged to upload their Resume (optional)
Prospects also select schools they would like to meet (if available)
Step 2: The MBA Tour will provide schools with a prioritized list of students based on individual school criteria. Criteria are determined from the school’s profile posted on The MBA Tour’s website
Prospects who upload their resume will be shown first
The more criteria for which the prospect qualifies, the higher the prospect will be on a school’s list
Prospective students who choose a school’s program will be highlighted
This will be available through our Meetup Resource center and available only to schools that register for MeetUp
Step 3: Schools review the candidates and choose with whom they would like to meet
Schools can:
Keep track of prospects they have viewed
Rate and sort the candidates
Create custom sort criteria
Choose prospects to meet
Mark those who are not of interest
Step 4: Set up a meeting with targeted prospective students through The MBA Tour’s scheduling system
Representatives can plan meetings, invite students and manage their individual schedules
They can also send appointments to their Outlook calendar
Steps for creating the meetings include
Create meeting time slots
Choose students to meet before or after an event
Add each to a specific time slot, you can meet with multiple students at one time
An auto email invitation is sent to chosen students
If student accepts, the meeting time will be set and scheduled
Meetings can be copied to Outlook or downloaded to excel
Note: no location is provided by The MBA Tour for these meetings, Schools will need to secure their own meeting space at a convenient time before or after the event
To ensure successful attendence of high quality candidates at our events we promote the event through multiple comprehensive channels: print & online media, educational test prep and consulting companies, MBA Resource networks and non-profits and social media outreach.
We notify Business Schools when there are opportunities to be included in editorial, PR, or print content. If you have questions about marketing, please contact us.

Admissions representatives regard the presentations as one of our most useful event formats. The presentations are an opportunity to showcase your unique program aspects to a group of prospective students. You have 30-35 minutes in a private room to highlight the features of your program. Typically there are three to six other universities presenting in concurrent sessions. Individual School Presentations are now offered at all events except Round Table Workshops & Middle East private events.
What the event attendees said...
Chicago event attendee, “I thought the individual school presentations were great. Not only did I gather an abundance of information about the schools, but I also got a taste of the culture from the admissions personnel and by observing the types and number of prospective students who attended each school's presentation.”
Atlanta event attendee, “It was a great opportunity for me to learn the specialty of each school from the individual school presentation. The back to back sessions enable me to easily make comparisons among schools.”
Panel Presentations are 30-45 minute sessions that cover valuable business school admissions topics and answer a wide range of MBA applicant questions. Schools have the opportunity to participate on the panels and share topic advice with a large group of prospective students. Any participating admissions representative can be a panelist; spots are first come first served.
Topics in the past include:
“How Admission Decisions are Made” “Managing Your MBA Career Search” "Financing your MBA"
What the event attendees said...
Chicago attendee, “Prior to attending the MBA Tour, I was slightly intimidated about going back to school to get my MBA full time, however, after sitting through the admission process panel presentation and meeting with schools reps face to face, I now feel excited and much more empowered.”
Hyderabad attendee, “…the panel discussions that talked about MBA admissions and career search in general, clarified a lot of the simpler questions that an MBA aspirant has in mind.”
The Fair is strategically placed at the end of our MBA conferences. This allows candidates to first gather information from the Individual School Presentations and Panel Presentations in order to prepare for speaking one-on-one with you at the fair. At the MBA Fair you and your alumni have the opportunity to meet with a large number of applicants in a short period of time.
Maximum of 4 people may represent a school at a table during the open fair.
What the event attendees said...
Mumbai attendee, “ [It] is a golden opportunity to interact with school representatives and alumni alike. It gives lot of insight about the admission process thus opening up the minds of students and allaying many misconceptions that students might have.”
Atlanta attendee, “I was able to speak one on one with admissions representatives to see if their program was a good fit for me. The fair also allowed me to compare multiple programs with each other at once to determine which programs warranted a school visit for more information.”
(2012 Houston only) This format will leverage our information intensive panels and individual school presentations and combine them with an open house instead of a fair. The open house will group schools into breakout rooms to facilitate better interaction among representatives and candidates. The MBA Tour will assign schools in groups that our market research shows will facilitate more visits from candidates. The open house format will help with better information exchange among school representatives, alumni and prospective students. The MBA Tour will also serve light snacks and refreshments during the open house portion of the event.
Round Table Workshops are highly personalized and interactive; they represent the most unique MBA Tour event format. These events accommodate a select and focused group of highly qualified applicants and a small number of business schools to maximize interaction. Candidates sit at a table of five to ten people. You will spend 10 to 15 minutes interacting with candidates and then rotate to present at the next table. You therefore have the opportunity to speak to every candidate at the event, maximizing outreach in a short period of time.
What the event attendees said...
San Francisco attendee,“The roundtable discussions allowed me to hear from schools that I otherwise would not have. In a different setting I would only have talked to the reps from the schools I had short-listed. Because of the roundtable, I will be applying to a school that I had not considered.”
Frankfurt attendee, “Everyone was able to get the attention of school representatives. It helped me to discard one choice that I had made and to discover another one which I did not consider before.”
In many cities we offer a reception for you and your alumni at the conclusion of the MBA conference. This is an opportunity to network with colleagues and reconnect with alumni.
